Sisyphus — Subsystem
Gallery
The programme as it actually looks: a garage bench, a dry lake bed, a few seconds of flight, and whatever is left afterwards. Roughly in the order a rocket goes through them.
Build
Airframe, gimbal and avionics, mostly on a workbench in a garage.
Test
Ground testing, where the gimbal runs against a live motor before it ever flies.
Launch day
A dry lake bed in the desert, which is the only place with room to get this wrong.
Flight
The part that lasts a few seconds and decides whether the rest of it worked.
After
Recovery, wreckage, and showing the thing to people.
